Thorvaldson Care Centre- Winnipeg Manitoba

Thorvaldson Care Center is a family-owned and operated Intermediate Care facility in Winnipeg Manitoba. The Care Centre is home to 65 residents and has been operating for over 60 years. 

Safe Haven Air Technologies was engaged in a facility-wide assessment to provide a Covid risk mitigation solution that would also protect against other harmful pathogens that personal care homes and health care facilities have had issues with, such as MRSA and VRE.

In this facility, the central core of both floors is where residents congregate. These spaces include the dining, recreation, and lobby areas that are serviced by the heating/cooling HVAC system. HALO LED In-duct air purification systems were installed and now provide 24/7 coverage against airborne and surface-dwelling pathogens in those gathering areas. Visitor meeting rooms are serviced by standalone systems.   

This technology has been third-party tested multiple times against SARS-CoV-2 surrogates along with other harmful viruses and bacteria inactivating them on contact.
